Mutiny at Millenia Walk
The second iteration of the Mutiny brand, this boutique exercise studio is strategically located on the prime floor of Millenia Walk—an iconic shopping arcade originally designed by Philip Johnson. The project balances privacy with intrigue while creating a high-quality indoor air environment within a repurposed quarter-circle plan.

At its heart is the X-former room, where small group classes cultivate strength and wellness. Lined with acoustic perforated panels, the space is carefully calibrated to contain sound—ensuring that energetic sessions do not spill into the public corridor. Ceiling and wall surfaces are designed to diffuse reverberations, and indoor fans promote thermal comfort. Fresh air is drawn directly from the adjacent internal atrium, maintaining low CO₂ levels and ensuring generous ventilation.

A previously concealed skylight, part of Johnson’s original architectural language, has been uncovered and reactivated—bringing daylight deep into the studio and reestablishing a connection to the larger atrium. Small apertures and layered screens offer glimpses between interior and arcade, inviting curiosity and subtle exchange between exercise and passerby.

Complementary spaces, including a modest foyer and changing room, are integrated within the compact footprint. Throughout, low-carbon and recycled materials are employed to reduce embodied carbon while maintaining a refined, high-performance interior.
